About Lucis Lighting
Lucis design & manufacture a broad collection of architectural lighting, using predominantly exquisite hand-blown glass, amongst other materials. Established in 1999 the company was founded with the vision to unite state-of-the-art technology with traditional glass making techniques to produce high quality handmade lighting products from their dedicated lighting factory. Lucis have worked incredibly hard over 20 years to perfect their technique and build an international reputation producing high quality glass lighting products.

Expertly Handcrafted
Each shade Lucis produce is carefully handcrafted by a master glassblower, from three layers of glass (Triplex). It takes 10-years to qualify as a Master Glassblower, in which time our craftsmen learn the unique art in creating these individual pieces. These shades ultimately envelope the latest LED light engines and control gear, prior to 100% testing, meaning designers can rest assured these beautiful pieces are also optimised for photometric performance and energy efficiency.
Optimum Sustainability
Each Lucis glass shade is produced from three layers of glass (Triplex). A thin opal layer is sandwiched in between two outer layers of clear glass. This improves light transmission considerably. Conventional glass normally has a light transmission of just 50% – 55%. Lucis 3-ply glass is up to 86% efficient, a 50% improvement over conventional glass. This is critically important when considering delivered efficiency of the fitting, thus reducing the total energy consumption for a project and the effect on the environment. Lucis: a simply better product choice.
